Fancy Pants Parties was inspired by numerous friends and family members with young children, and by the imagination of our own daughter. Time and time again we heard parents' tales of countless hours and dollars being poured into a valiant effort to throw a really special party for their child. In most cases these parents were too exhausted by the time the big day rolled around to enjoy all of their efforts. When we threw our daughter's first big party, we understood what they were all talking about. Her request was for a fairy party, and she wanted the guests to have wings, wands, and wear flowers. Where do you find fairy wings in the middle of March that won't cost you a fortune? Where do you find enough matching pairs for all of your guests? We sifted through party supply stores to find there were only 3 or 4 of one item, or they were completely out of stock on another item. Finding quality party favors was also a challenge. We didn't want items that would end up broken by the end of the party, but rather, toys that the kids would be excited to take home and play with well after the party was over. In the end, our party was a great success, but not without an incredibly monumental effort.
It left us thinking that there should be an easier way. Wouldn't it be great if a parent could order a pre-planned party that included everything from invitations, decorations, quality favors, toys and costume items, right down to the birthday candles? And wouldn't it be even better if the whole thing could be delivered right to their front door? Isn't it enough work to clean up the house and prepare the food?
So we began taking the first steps toward creating Fancy Pants Parties. For nearly a year we sorted through toys, costumes, decorations, favors and so much more. We focused on things that would be exciting to children, with special effects like lights and sounds. We wanted each party to have a real wow factor, without costing a fortune. Sample after sample was put through rigorous testing. (We handed them over to the rowdiest kids in our lives, to be sure they would stand up to very serious play.) Finally we were confident that we had all the right components for spectacular parties: adorable costume items, quality toys and favors, and darling coordinating party supplies and decorations.
We've taken all the legwork out of throwing a sucessful and exciting kid's party, a party they will truly remember forever. With just a few clicks of your mouse most of the work is done. We know that everyone would like to be Martha Stewart, but these days, lets face it, who has the time?
